مدحْتَ نُصَيراً على زَمرِه

مدحْتَ نُصَيراً على زَمرِه

وفي زمره يصدُقُ المادِحُ

وفي زمره يصدُقُ المادِحُ

You praised Nuṣayr for his piping,

You praised a leader among his tribe

and the praiser speaks truly of his piping.

And among his tribe, the praiser speaks true

فنازع في زَمرِه معشرٌ

فنازع في زَمرِه معشرٌ

وقالوا يشابهه صالحُ

وقالوا يشابهه صالحُ

Then a group argued about his piping,

Yet a group disputed his tribe

and said, “Ṣāliḥ matches him.”

And said he resembled the righteous

فقلت لهم زَمرُه غاية

فقلت لهم زَمرُه غاية

وصالِحٌ في زَمرِهِ صالحُ

وصالِحٌ في زَمرِهِ صالحُ

So I told them, “His piping is the pinnacle,

So I said to them, his tribe's the best

and Ṣāliḥ is good at his piping.”

And the righteous among his tribe stay righteous
