إحسانُ شِعري فيكمو مُخبرٌ

أنكمو حسّنتُمُ حاليا

أنكمو حسّنتُمُ حاليا

The excellence of my verse in your praise reveals

My poetry's goodness is a talebearer

That you have improved my lot.

That you have bettered my state

فالأفْقُ ما انهلّتْ شآبيبُه

فالأفْقُ ما انهلّتْ شآبيبُه

إلا انْثَنى الروضُ به حاليا

إلا انْثَنى الروضُ به حاليا

For the sky’s showers never pour down

The horizon whose showers have not descended

Without the garden becoming adorned thereby.

Except the meadow bent over it presently
