تنشرُproclaim أثوابُناour garments مدائحَهhis praises
تنشرُ أثوابُنا مدائحَه
بألسُنٍwith tongues ماnot لهُنّfor them أفواهُmouths
بألسُنٍ ما لهُنّ أفواهُ
Our garments proclaim his praises
Our clothes spread his praises
With tongues that have no mouths.
With tongues that have no mouths
إذاwhen مررناwe pass علىby الأهمّthe deaf man بهاin them
إذا مررنا على الأهمّ بها
أغنَتْهُsufficed him عنinstead of مِسمعَيْهhis two ears عيناهُhis two eyes
أغنَتْهُ عن مِسمعَيْه عيناهُ
When we pass by a deaf man in them,
When we pass by the most important with them
His eyes spare him the need for his ears.
His eyes suffice him from hearing with his ears
