Let my father and others besides him be ransom

for the languor of your languid eye.

You were fashioned as a verdant garden,

and I am more delicate than the breeze.

I was given hope of a favor from you,

then I fell into agonizing pain.

You have become, O Riḍwān, the Riḍwān

    of misery, not of bliss.

That one calls to the gardens,

    while you call to hell.
