إِذاif أَبْصَرْتَyou behold ناظِرَنَاour overseer
إِذا أَبْصَرْتَ ناظِرَنَا
وقدwhile already حَفَّتْhave gathered بِهِaround him الخَدَمُthe servants
وقد حَفَّتْ بِهِ الخَدَمُ
If you behold our overseer,
With servants gathered all around him,
فلاthen do not يَغْرُرْكَdeceive you قَعْقَعَةٌa clatter
فلا يَغْرُرْكَ قَعْقَعَةٌ
كَسَتْهُclothed him مَجَالَهاtheir sweep الخُذُمُthe keen swords
كَسَتْهُ مَجَالَها الخُذُمُ
Do not be deceived by the clatter
With which keen swords, as they sweep, have clothed him.
وجِدْand find قِرْطاسَهُhis paper لِتَرَىso you may see
وجِدْ قِرْطاسَهُ لِتَرَى
مَقابِحَugly faults خَطَّهاthe pen traced them القَلَمُthe pen
مَقابِحَ خَطَّها القَلَمُ
And find his paper, so you may see
The ugly faults the pen has traced.
تَجِدْهاyou will find them ثَمَّthere شاهدةًbearing witness
تَجِدْها ثَمَّ شاهدةً
بأَنَّto the fact that وجودَهhis existence عَدَمُnothingness
بأَنَّ وجودَه عَدَمُ
You will find them there bearing witness
That his existence is nothingness.
