Ibn al-Yasar scrutinized the 'counterpart of meanings' [wording unclear]
in the account attributed to him.
صارhe began يجريhe proceeds علىupon الحواليthe payment drafts الجواريthe circulating ones
صار يجري على الحوالي الجواري
ويُعانيand he toils at اقتضاءَهاcollecting their dues بيديهِwith his two hands
ويُعاني اقتضاءَها بيديهِ
He began dealing with the circulating payment drafts
and toiling to collect their dues with his two hands.
ويقيمand he upholds القانونَthe law بالقِسْطِwith fairness فيماin whatever
ويقيم القانونَ بالقِسْطِ فيما
يجْتَنيهhe reaps it ويجتبيهِand he collects it لديهِin his possession
يجْتَنيه ويجتبيهِ لديهِ
He upholds the law with fairness in whatever
he reaps and collects into his possession.
كلُّeveryone منwho قالَsaid ماnot بلغتُI have come of age تولّىundertook
كلُّ من قالَ ما بلغتُ تولّى
أمرُthe task of تجريبِهtesting him البلوغَreaching maturity عليْهِagainst him
أمرُ تجريبِه البلوغَ عليْهِ
For anyone who said, 'I have not come of age,'
the task of testing him undertook to establish his maturity against him.
