And many a night companion—from sleep’s drowsiness you are drawn away

By his words; through him, the night is day.

The ears turn away from hearing his speech,

Deaf, while the eyes hear it.

And he sways the boughs of slender figures, as though he were

A cup of wine passed around among them.

If one day a matter proves difficult for you,

Then ask him and find good fortune, for he has the news.

Nothing is more just than he: you reveal his secret

Always, while secrets remain hidden with him.
