وعجّلِ البرَّ فما يستوي

وعجّلِ البرَّ فما يستوي

يا سيّدي العاجلُ والآجلُ

يا سيّدي العاجلُ والآجلُ

And hasten your bounty, for they are not equal—

Hasten to do good, for it now avails;

O my lord, the immediate and the deferred.

My master, soon and late are not the same.

لا زلتَ في عزٍّ وفي نعمةٍ

لا زلتَ في عزٍّ وفي نعمةٍ

ما اهتزّ غصنٌ ناعمٌ ذابلُ

ما اهتزّ غصنٌ ناعمٌ ذابلُ

May you ever remain in honor and in blessing,

Thou still in honour and in ease abide;

As long as a tender, drooping branch sways.

No tender branch when faded turns again.
