ومزنرٍand a wearer of the zunnar (girdle) أضحىbegan يقولto say ثلاثةًthree
وأقولand I say منin وجهينtwo respects لاno بلrather واحدُone
And a girdle-wearer began to say, “Three,”

أستغفرI seek forgiveness اللهGod العظيمَthe Great فإنّنيfor indeed I
بالزورِto falsehood معترفٌacknowledging وقلبيand my heart جاحدُdenying

Profess falsehood, while my heart denies it.
Admit to falsehood while my heart denies
