قصدَ الهون فجازاني بهْ
And an emir—whenever I honored him,
Whenever I honor a prince
he aimed at humiliation and repaid me with it.
He aims for disgrace and rewards me with it

He lavished a vile epithet on me, while
He generously bestows on me a rotten title when

And if you joke with a fierce lion
then brace yourself to meet his claw.
Be prepared to encounter its claws
