And a sweet-voiced youth—were it not for his mouth,

so radiant, he would be likened to a gazelle.

He sways like a branch, but

in the hands of the breeze of coquetry.

And he shines like the full moon, but

his hair takes the place of the nights.

His beauty marks upon his cheek

are horses on the field of battle.

    So they—and it—seem like

    hours of separation amid union.
