أأزورُAm I to visit دارَكyour home كرّتينِtwice وأنثنيand turn away
عنهاfrom it وأنتwhile you بهاin it ولستُand I do not أراكاsee you
Am I to visit your home twice and turn away
Shall I visit your home twice and return
from it while you are there, yet I do not see you?
While you are there, yet still not see you?
ماwhat كانwould have ضرَّكharmed you لوif خرجْتَyou came out تكلُّفاًmaking an effort
ورعايةًand out of regard لودادِfor the affection مَنof one who يرعاكاcares for you
What harm would it have done you to come out, making an effort,
It would not hurt you to come out of courtesy
and out of regard for the affection of one who cares for you?
And care for one whose love tends you.
غلبhas prevailed الملالُboredom عليكover you حتىto the point that إنّهُindeed it
إنif كنتَyou have مِلْتَturned الىtoward سوايَsomeone other than me فإننيthen indeed I
Boredom has overcome you, so much so that it...
Boredom has overcome you, so that
If you have turned toward someone other than me, then I
If you are bored with me, well I
ماnot مِلْتُI have turned لِسواكاtoward anyone other than you
have not turned toward anyone other than you.
Am not bored of you.
