فاسْتَحَمَّ الدَّمْعَ وانْتَزَحَا
He remembered the caravan that had gone far away.
He recalled the caravan that departed
So he called forth tears and drained them.
So he shed tears and took leave

قَلَّدَتْها عَيْنُه وشَجَا
And the traces of an unadorned dwelling grieved him.
And her traces pained him
His eye adorned her with interwoven strands.
His eyes imagined her and pained him

فَتَشَكَّى رَبْعُها البُرَحا
Her wild-cow calves had departed from her.
Her roots departed from her
So her dwelling complained of anguish.
So her once verdant abode withered

She enthralled the clouds’ heart with love for her.
The heart of clouds mourned for her
And they showed her freely flowing tears.
And showed her copious tears

Her doves are like her hearthstones.
Like her doves mourning her
And are they not singing aloud of separation?
Are they not in Nawa loud wailers?
