روت عنك أخبار المعالي محاسن

كفت بلسان الحال عن ألسن الحمد

كفت بلسان الحال عن ألسن الحمد

Your fine qualities have recounted tales of your lofty deeds;

The news of your virtues has circulated, of your excellent traits,

With the tongue of circumstance, they have dispensed with tongues of praise.

Your appearance has spoken for all tongues praising you,

فوجهك عن بشر وكفك عن عطا

فوجهك عن بشر وكفك عن عطا

وخلقك عن سعدٍ ورأيك عن سعد

وخلقك عن سعدٍ ورأيك عن سعد

So your face narrates from Bishr, and your palm from ‘Ata;

Your face gives freely its kindness and gentility,

And your character from Sa‘d, and your judgment from Sa‘d.

Your character is of utmost bliss, and your wisdom is most auspicious.
