شكوتَ وبالشكوى إلى غير راحمٍ
تعذَّرproved impossible منيfor me للمرادof the desired end حصولattainment
تعذَّر مني للمراد حصول
You complained; and through complaint to one without mercy,
I complained to one with no mercy,
attainment of the desired end proved impossible for me.
Seeking from me what could not be.
وصولاتand charges قومpeople بالكثيرِin abundance تقسَّمتwere apportioned
وصولات قوم بالكثيرِ تقسَّمت
لديكمwith you وماand not ليfor me وصولaccess
لديكم وما لي وصول
And people's charges were apportioned in abundance
Messages of a people divided
among you, while I have no access.
Reach you in plenty, none reach me.
خضبتI dyed مشيبيmy gray hair بالدموعwith tears فماso not بهin it
خضبت مشيبي بالدموع فما به
ولكنand yet بقلبيin my heart للهمومِof sorrows نصولblades
ولكن بقلبي للهمومِ نصول
I dyed my gray hair with tears; not in it,
My grey hair is dyed with tears, yet
but in my heart lie the blades of sorrow.
It's not my hair, but my heart that grieves.
