أهلاًwelcome بسائرةto the wandering one الصباthe east wind منfrom نحوكمyour direction
أهلاً بسائرة الصبا من نحوكم
وبماand to what عهدناwe have known منof تعاهدregular renewal طولهاits bounty
وبما عهدنا من تعاهد طولها
Welcome to the wandering east wind from your direction,
Welcome, O morning wind, from your quarters,
and to the familiar renewal of its bounty.
And the care we know that tends its journey long,
أملتit dictated علىto الزّهرthe flowers المقطبfrowning ذكركمremembrance of you
أملت على الزّهر المقطب ذكركم
حتَّىuntil تبسمit smiled ضاحكاًlaughing منat قولهاits words
حتَّى تبسم ضاحكاً من قولها
It dictated remembrance of you to the frowning flowers,
I dictated to the bud bedecked your memory,
until they smiled, laughing at its words.
Until it smiled and laughed at what she told.
