And the arbiter of reason rules

That the almond confection is sweeter.

That you are the most beautiful

وخشكناناً أتاني

في مثل عيديَ فتلا

And khushknan pastry came to me,

And you came to me, Khushknan

Twisted, on an occasion like my Eid,

On my holiday, reciting

من أفضل الناس نفساً

من أفضل الناس نفساً

وأنفس الناس فضلا

وأنفس الناس فضلا

From the finest of people in soul,

The most noble soul

And the most precious of people in merit,

And the noblest of people

وفي انتساب وعلم

وفي انتساب وعلم

أجلّ فرعاً وأصلا

أجلّ فرعاً وأصلا

And in lineage and learning,

In lineage and knowledge

The most exalted in branch and root.

The highest branch and root

عليّ هنئتَ عيداً

عليّ هنئتَ عيداً

في الصيغتين محلّى

في الصيغتين محلّى

Ali, joy to you on an Eid,

You congratulated me on Eid

Sweetened in both forms.

In both forms, filled

أنهيت عاليَ قصدي

أنهيت عاليَ قصدي

فيه ورأيك أعلى

فيه ورأيك أعلى

I have conveyed my lofty purpose

I have ended my lofty intent

In it; and your judgment is loftier.

In it, and your view is higher
