ثلاث مآذنٍ في الحسن زادت
فرابعهاso their fourth لأجلon account of العينthe evil eye جاثيkneeling
فرابعها لأجل العين جاثي
Three minarets have excelled in beauty;
Three minarets in beauty have risen
so their fourth kneels for fear of the evil eye.
So a fourth for the eyes has knelt
وماand not نقصتْdiminished محاسنهاtheir charms ولكنbut
وما نقصتْ محاسنها ولكن
ليحلفَso they may swear واصفوهاthose describing them بالثلاثby the three
ليحلفَ واصفوها بالثلاث
Their charms have not diminished; it is only
Their beauty has not diminished
so those describing them may swear by the three.
Yet describers swear only three
