نعتوك حقًّا بالإمام لما حوت
علياكyour eminence منof نسكٍdevotion وعلمand learning بارعoutstanding
علياك من نسكٍ وعلم بارع
They rightly called you the imam, for
They rightly call you the Imam, for you possess
your eminence encompassed devotion and outstanding learning.
Asceticism, knowledge, and great wisdom
وأعنتand you aided أربابpeople with المقاصدthe aims شافعاًinterceding
وأعنت أرباب المقاصد شافعاً
لهمfor them فأهلاًso welcome بالإمامto the imam الشافعthe intercessor
لهم فأهلاً بالإمام الشافع
And you aided those pursuing their aims, interceding
You aid those of righteous intentions, interceding,
for them—so welcome to the interceding imam.
