للصاحب العلميّ الذكر نور ثناً
أشهىmore pleasing وأشهرand more renowned منthan نارٍa fire علىupon علمa mountain
أشهى وأشهر من نارٍ على علم
The lord al-ʿAlamī’s renown is a light of praise,
For the scholarly friend, praise's light burns
More pleasing and more renowned than a fire upon a mountain.
More splendid and brighter than fire on wood
قالتsaid تواقيعهhis decrees أوقاتat the times of جلستهhis session
قالت تواقيعه أوقات جلسته
سبحانglory be to منthe One who علمtaught الإنسانhumankind بالقلمby the pen
سبحان من علم الإنسان بالقلم
His decrees spoke during his session:
His compositions said, in time of assembly
Glory be to Him who taught humankind by the pen.
Glory to Him who taught man with the pen
