لاح الإمام لطلاّب الّلهى علماً

لاح الإمام لطلاّب الّلهى علماً

وماس باناً على أدراجه القلم

وماس باناً على أدراجه القلم

The Imam shone as a beacon for seekers of bounty;

The Imam shone for the students seeking divine knowledge

And the pen swayed like a bān-tree upon his scrolls.

And held fast to the stairs of his pen

فقل لمن سار للآمال يقصدها

فقل لمن سار للآمال يقصدها

يا ساريَ القصد هذا البان والعلم

يا ساريَ القصد هذا البان والعلم

So tell whoever journeyed toward hopes, seeking them:

So say to the one who set out for hopes to attain them

O night-traveler on your quest, here are the bān-tree and the beacon.

O you who set out with purpose, this is the spring and the knowledge
