ت حتَّى تغيّظ الإسلام
The dead witness prolonged our fasting,
The witness has increased our fasting,
until Islam grew enraged.
Until Islam was enraged,
جرحوهthey wounded him فماyet not تألمhe felt pain جرحاًfrom a wound
جرحوه فما تألم جرحاً
ماthere is no لجرحٍfor a wound بميتin a dead man إيلامcausing pain
ما لجرحٍ بميت إيلام
They wounded him, yet no wound caused him pain;
They wounded him, but he felt no pain from the wound
a wound causes a dead man no pain.
A wound feels no pain in one already dead
