عيشي وعين الحاسد المتواطي
Thanks for the robe, which has brightened
Thanks to her, predictably my life has lightened,
My life and whitened the conniving envier’s eye.
While the envious eye, dispelled into darkness.

خياطها وعجزت عن قيراط

She came unsolicited, arrived before me-
Its tailor, and I could not pay a qirat.
Her tailor in tow, short just a gram.

قد جدت لي قدماً وللخياط

You have been generous to me before—and to the tailor.
She stretched out her hand, as did her tailor.
