تهنّ به عيداً أجلّ كبيرا

غدوت به للسائدين أميرا

Rejoice in it as a most exalted, grand feast.

With it you celebrated a great and noble feast

Through it you have become a prince over the lords.

You became with it for the rulers a prince

وعش بين عيدٍ بالحجاز مهنئاً

وعش بين عيدٍ بالحجاز مهنئاً

وعيدٍ على أوطانِ مصر قريرا

وعيدٍ على أوطانِ مصر قريرا

And live between a feast in the Hijaz, offering congratulations,

And live between a feast in Hejaz congratulating

And a feast in Egypt's lands, content.

And a feast in the lands of Egypt cheering

لقد عشت نور الدين في أفق العلى

لقد عشت نور الدين في أفق العلى

وفي العلم والفضل البهي شهيرا

وفي العلم والفضل البهي شهيرا

Indeed, you have lived, Nur al-Din, on the horizon of glory,

You lived Nur al-Din on the horizon of the high

And renowned in learning and resplendent virtue.

And in science and abundant virtue famed

ووفيتني حقّ الجوار يكاد أن

ووفيتني حقّ الجوار يكاد أن

يكون من الحظّ الحرون مجيرا

يكون من الحظّ الحرون مجيرا

And you have granted me a neighbor's due, which almost

And you were true to me in the right of neighborhood that is

Becomes a protector against obstinate fortune.

لغلمانِ مولانا عليّ مودَّةٌ

ينقصها بعض الأمور يسيرا

ينقصها بعض الأمور يسيرا

I have affection for our master Ali's young servants,

For the boys of our master Ali benevolence

Which a few matters diminish slightly.

That lacks some of the matters little

لئن خدموني خدمةً مستجادةً

لئن خدموني خدمةً مستجادةً

لقد بخلت بخلاً عليَّ كثيرا

لقد بخلت بخلاً عليَّ كثيرا

Though they have rendered me admirable service,

If they served me an excellent service

You have been exceedingly stingy toward me.

I was miserly with much miserliness upon me

ينفرّ من قد عطَّفته كأنما

ينفرّ من قد عطَّفته كأنما

It is repelled by one whose affection I drew as if
