  1. يا عجباً من طوقِ طاقيَّتي

    عن لبسِ يومٍ واحدٍ قد غلب

    Oh, how strange the band of my cap:

    it has been overcome by a single day's wear.

  2. وشاشُ رأسي انقلبت حالهُ

    عندي وقالوا الشاشُ لا ينقلب

    And the muslin on my head has changed its state

    in my keeping—yet they said muslin does not reverse.
