يا كاتبَ الملكِ تهنأ به

هلالَ عيدٍ سعدَه واجب
O scribe of the king, may you rejoice in him—
O writer of the king's decree, congratulate him
an Eid crescent whose good fortune is assured,
On a crescent moon of a blessed holiday
كحاجبٍlike an eyebrow مقترنٍjoined بالبَهاwith splendor
كحاجبٍ مقترنٍ بالبَها
فحبَّذاso how excellent الكاتبُthe scribe والحاجبand the chamberlain
فحبَّذا الكاتبُ والحاجب
like an eyebrow joined to splendor;
Like an eyebrow connected to splendor
so how excellent are the scribe and the chamberlain!
So the writer and the guard are delighted

We are your subjects, and none is angry
We are your subjects, so no one is angry
among us at Time, nor reproaches it.
At fate from us, nor blaming

In him the blessings of happiness have gathered;
Attributes of splendor have gathered in it
so we all long for his time.
So we are all desiring of its time
