يا سيدي نفحات جو
دكcompletion of 'your generosity' لاnot يطاقcan be borne لهاfor them اكتتامconcealment
دك لا يطاق لها اكتتام
O my lord, the breezes of your generosity
O my master, the breezes of air
cannot be kept hidden.
Your darkness cannot be concealed
لكنbut دراهمdirhams فيin يدbeginning of 'my hands'
لكن دراهم في يد
يّcompletion of 'my hands' بدتappeared فقالso said ليَto me الأنامthe people
يّ بدت فقال ليَ الأنام
But dirhams in my hands
But coins in hand
appeared, so the people said to me:
O people, appeared and said to me
ماwhat هذهthese فأجبتهمso I answered them
ما هذه فأجبتهم
صدقاتalms سرٍّsecrecy والسلامand peace (a closing salutation)
صدقات سرٍّ والسلام
"What are these?" I answered them:
What is this? I answered them
"Secret alms—and peace."
