ايا ملكاً من بعض أوصاف مجده
كريمnoble السجاياcharacter traits عادلjust الحكمjudgment زاهدascetic
كريم السجايا عادل الحكم زاهد
O king, among whose glorious qualities are
O king endowed with glory’s attributes,
noble character, just judgment, and asceticism.
Of noble traits, administering justice, ascetic,
تهنّrejoice بعيدin the feast النحرsacrifice وابقand remain ممتعاًgranted enjoyment
تهنّ بعيد النحر وابق ممتعاً
بأمثالهwith others like it ماas long as طافcircled بالبيتaround the House وافدa visiting pilgrim
بأمثاله ما طاف بالبيت وافد
Rejoice in the Feast of Sacrifice, and live on to enjoy
Congratulate on the Feast of Sacrifice and remain delightful
others like it, as long as a pilgrim circles the House.
With the like of him never a guest circled the House (Kaaba),
تقلدناyou adorn us فيهduring it قلائدnecklaces أنعمٍof favors
تقلدنا فيه قلائد أنعمٍ
وفيand at النحرthe throat (also: sacrifice) أولىmost fitting ماwhen تكونare القلائدthe necklaces
وفي النحر أولى ما تكون القلائد
During this feast you adorn us with necklaces of favors,
He conferred on us necklaces of favors,
and at the throat necklaces are most fitting.
And at the Feast of Sacrifice are necklaces best conferred.
