تصوَّغ عن شمائله المعاني
Kamal al-Din, may you live as our refuge,
Kamal al-Din, you lived as a refuge for us
from whose virtues meanings take shape.
Meanings were inspired by your traits
وقعتyou fell علىupon الجوادthe steed وأنتَand you غيثrain
وقعت على الجواد وأنتَ غيث
وقمتand you rose مسلماًunharmed خصبbounteous الجنانthe heart
وقمت مسلماً خصب الجنان
You fell upon the steed, you who are rain,
You fell on the generous one while you were a rain
and rose unharmed, bounteous of heart.
And you stood, a Muslim, fertile of heavens
فأيقنتso became certain الورىhumankind خصباًabundance وقالواand they said
فأيقنت الورى خصباً وقالوا
وقوعfalling الغيثthe rain منpart of خصبabundance الزمانthe age
وقوع الغيث من خصب الزمان
So humankind was certain of abundance and said:
So people were certain of fertility and said
The falling of rain is part of the age’s abundance.
The falling of rain is from the fertility of time
