مستجادٌ لكن قليل الطلاوه

Ibn al-Wakil had knowledge of poetry,

The overseer's son had skill in poetry

Highly regarded, but with little charm.

Proficient but little originality

وأرى صدر وقتنا قائلاً ما

وأرى صدر وقتنا قائلاً ما

كلّ صدر يهدى لهذي الحلاوه

كلّ صدر يهدى لهذي الحلاوه

And I see the foremost man of our time saying: “Not

And I see the zeitgeist saying: Not

every breast is guided to this sweetness.”

Every talent tends toward ingenuity
