أفدِيI would give my life for إماماًan imam حكَىmirrored حسناًbeauty ليوسفof Joseph إذas
أفدِي إماماً حكَى حسناً ليوسف إذ
للشافعيّof al-Shafi‘i حكىmirrored أوقاتtimes تدريسteaching
للشافعيّ حكى أوقات تدريس
I would give my life for an imam who mirrored Joseph's beauty, as
I sacrifice myself for an Imam who narrated the beauty of Yusuf when
he mirrored al-Shafi‘i during teaching sessions.
He narrated the times of teaching for Ash-Shafi’i
يقولsays فيin الحفلthe gathering رائيهone who sees him وسامعهand one who hears him
يقول في الحفل رائيه وسامعه
هذاthis ابنُson of يعقوبJacob أمor هذاthis ابنson of إدريسIdris
هذا ابنُ يعقوب أم هذا ابن إدريس
At the gathering, those who see him and those who hear him say:
He says in the gathering, its seer and its hearer
“Is this the son of Jacob, or is this the son of Idris?”
Is this the son of Ya'qub or is this the son of Idris?
