I sent my son confident in virtues
which you inherited from noble-born lords.
I inherited from noble forebears
لالا: no غرْوَغرْوَ: wonder إنإن: if أعربتأعربت: they expressed or revealed عنعن: about أحسابِهمأحسابِهم: their ancestral nobility
لا غرْوَ إن أعربت عن أحسابِهم
فأبوفأبو: for Abu (father of) البقاءِالبقاءِ: al-Baqa (endurance) أحقُّأحقُّ: most entitled بالإعراببالإعراب: to clear expression; also grammatical parsing
فأبو البقاءِ أحقُّ بالإعراب
No wonder if they reveal their ancestral nobility,
No wonder if I express their feelings
for Abu al-Baqa has the greatest claim to eloquent expression.
