I have indeed come to a state

I have reached a state,

At whose like even stone would soften:

مشيبٌ وافْتقار يدٍ

فلا عينٌ ولا أثر

Grey hair and an empty hand—

Grey hair and lacking hands,

So there is neither substance nor trace.

No eyes to see, no trace remains.
