لي قلمٌ بين دجى خطّه

لي قلمٌ بين دجى خطّه

يبيت ذا رَقْصٍ وذا زحمَه

يبيت ذا رَقْصٍ وذا زحمَه

I have a pen amid the darkness of its script;

I have a pen whose lines in the dark night

it spends the night dancing and jostling.

Dance and revel in eager delight

يقول من يبصر أحواله

يقول من يبصر أحواله

هذا هو الراقص في الظلمه

هذا هو الراقص في الظلمه

Whoever sees its ways says:

He who sees the pen’s condition would say

“This is the dancer in the dark.”
