How fine the inkwell! It has matched gleaming sword-edges, and to it belong
Yes, the pen traced white gazelles,
among kingdoms, the laying of foundations and the building up.
So between kingdoms it paved and built.
كأنَّas though أقلامهاits pens منهاfrom it منضلةٌshooting in archery
كأنَّ أقلامها منها منضلةٌ
فلمso did not يفتهاelude it إلىtoward الأغراضِthe targets تسديدaccurate aiming
فلم يفتها إلى الأغراضِ تسديد
As though its pens were archers shooting from it,
As if its pens were branched from it -
so it never lacked accurate aim toward the targets.
No purpose eluded its true aim.
