تقولsay المعاليlofty honors لابنto the son of يحيىYahya عليّهاtheir Ali (their exalted one)
تقول المعالي لابن يحيى عليّها
ومنand who كعليّlike Ali فيin معاليهِhis lofty achievements أوor يحيىYahya
ومن كعليّ في معاليهِ أو يحيى
High honors call the son of Yahya their Ali.
The virtues say to the son of Yahya concerning her,
And who is like Ali in his lofty achievements, or Yahya?
And who is like Ali in his virtues, or Yahya,
إذاif كنتyou are يوماًone day ذاpossessing نباتa plant غرستهُyou planted it
إذا كنت يوماً ذا نبات غرستهُ
فعاهدthen tend it ولاand do not تهملneglect نباتكyour plant بالسقياwith watering
فعاهد ولا تهمل نباتك بالسقيا
If one day you have a plant you have planted,
If you become one day a planted seedling,
Then tend it with watering, and do not neglect your plant.
Then make a pledge and do not neglect your sapling with watering,
يفحwill waft fragrance لكfor you ريحانsweet basil الثناpraise منfrom نسيمهits breeze
يفح لك ريحان الثنا من نسيمه
ويدعوand it prays فيرضيso it pleases زهرةthe flower of الدينfaith والدنياand this world
ويدعو فيرضي زهرة الدين والدنيا
The sweet basil of praise will waft to you from its breeze,
The basil of praise will blow its scent to you from its breeze,
And it will pray, pleasing the flower of faith and this world.
And it will call to satisfy the flower of religion and the world.
