أقول للشاهد إذ ينثني
عطفthe waist of رشاًa young gazelle قلبيmy heart بهbecause of him قدindeed هلكhas perished
عطف رشاً قلبي به قد هلك
I say to the handsome one as he bends
his gazelle-like waist—my heart has perished because of him:
ياO معطفsupple waist of الشاهدthe handsome one سبحانglory be to منHim who
يا معطف الشاهد سبحان من
سوَّاكfashioned you فيin الحسنِbeauty ومنand who عدَّلكmade you well-proportioned
سوَّاك في الحسنِ ومن عدَّلك
O supple waist of the handsome one, glory be to Him
who fashioned you in beauty and made you well-proportioned.
