Congratulations to you on the joyous Eid, and congratulations

to the Eids and years on your continued life.

عيد يعود حماك ألف مثله

والبيض طوع يديك والأقلام

والبيض طوع يديك والأقلام

An Eid—may a thousand like it return to your domain,

while gleaming swords and pens obey your hands.

فانعم به واسق الضحايا والعدى

فانعم به واسق الضحايا والعدى

نحراً فإن جميعهم أنعام

نحراً فإن جميعهم أنعام

So rejoice in it, and give the sacrificial beasts and foes a draught

of slaughter, for all of them are livestock.
