كأنَّك بي سكنت بخانقاتٍ

ووعظك قد ملا سمع المصيخ

It is as though, through me, you had settled in Sufi lodges,

and your preaching had filled the attentive listener’s ear.

كسرت كؤوس شعري بعدَ دورٍ

كسرت كؤوس شعري بعدَ دورٍ

وتبتَ على يدي شيخ الشيوخ

وتبتَ على يدي شيخ الشيوخ

You shattered the goblets of my verse after a round,

and repented at the hands of the shaykh of shaykhs.
