لا تنكِروا حمرةَ الأظافرِ من

فلانَ والقملُ منه منسرب

فلانَ والقملُ منه منسرب

Do not be surprised at the redness of the fingernails of

so-and-so, while lice stream from him.

حمرتها من دماءِ ما قتلتْ

حمرتها من دماءِ ما قتلتْ

والدم في النصلِ شاهد عجب

والدم في النصلِ شاهد عجب

Their redness comes from the blood of what they have killed;

and the blood on the blade is a wondrous witness.
