وناعورةand a waterwheel قسمتdivided حسنهاits beauty
وناعورة قسمت حسنها
علىto ناظرٍan onlooker وعلىand to سامعa listener
على ناظرٍ وعلى سامع
And a waterwheel divided its beauty
Between an onlooker and a listener.
وقدand already ضاعdrifted away نشرfragrance الربىthe hills فاغْتدتso it began
وقد ضاع نشر الربى فاغْتدت
تدورturns وتبكيand weeps علىfor الضائعwhat was lost
تدور وتبكي على الضائع
And the hills’ fragrance drifted away, so it began
To turn and weep for what was lost.
