عرِّجturn aside علىto قبرِthe grave of الكمالal-Kamal وقلْand say لهto him
عرِّج على قبرِ الكمال وقلْ له
سحبتmay trail عليكَover you السحبُthe clouds منsome of أذيالهاtheir hems
سحبت عليكَ السحبُ من أذيالها
Turn aside to al-Kamal’s grave and say to him:
May the clouds trail their hems over you.
قسماًI swear لقدindeed نقصتhas diminished وأعوزتand grown wanting العلىglory
قسماً لقد نقصت وأعوزت العلى
ياoh شوقهاits longing لتمامهاfor its fullness وكمالهاand its perfection
يا شوقها لتمامها وكمالها
I swear, glory has diminished and grown wanting;
Oh, how it longs for its fullness and perfection!
