تكفل لي جود أندى الورى

تكفل لي جود أندى الورى

وشاع به الذكر في كل واد

وشاع به الذكر في كل واد

The generosity of the most munificent of humankind has provided for me,

And through it, renown has spread in every valley.

ووالله ما خفت تغيير ما

ووالله ما خفت تغيير ما

تعوّدت من برِّه المستفاد

تعوّدت من برِّه المستفاد

And by God, I have feared no change in what

I have grown accustomed to receiving from his bounty.

إذا غير الدهر حسن الذوات

إذا غير الدهر حسن الذوات

فحاشا محاسن ذات العماد

فحاشا محاسن ذات العماد

If time alters the beauty of persons,

Then al-ʿImād’s own virtues are exempt.
