فيin دَعَةpeace and ease اللهGod سرْgo سعيداًhappily
في دَعَة الله سرْ سعيداً
ممدّحmuch praised الحلقthe throats والخلائقand all creation
ممدّح الحلق والخلائق
Go happily in God's peace,
much praised by throats and all creation.
مفارقparting with الطرفthe gaze فيكَwhere you are concerned غيريsomeone other than me
مفارق الطرف فيكَ غيري
حيثُwherever سرَتjourneyed by night خيلكَyour horses السوابقthe fleet ones
حيثُ سرَت خيلكَ السوابق
Another, not I, would turn his gaze from you,
wherever your fleet steeds have journeyed by night.
منwho أعلمtold الطرفthe eye حينwhen تسريyou journey by night
من أعلم الطرف حين تسري
أنكthat you تاجٌa crown علىupon المفارقthe crowns of heads
أنك تاجٌ على المفارق
Who told the eye, as you journey by night,
that you are a crown upon heads?
