تزهو بها وبمدحها الأيام
O parchment, kiss the two palms of Shamsiyya,
O page, kiss a sunlike palm,
Through whom—and through whose praise—the days shine proudly.
In which, and in whose praise, the days take pride.

بحراً لها متدفق وغمام
You grew humble in her company—though company has never ceased to be
You [verb unclear] the companions; and the companions have always been
For her a surging sea and a rain cloud.
A flowing sea for it, and rainclouds.

إنif لمnot تعجلyou hasten غوثrelief عائلتيmy family بهاthrough it
إن لم تعجل غوث عائلتي بها

If you do not hasten my family’s relief through her,
If you do not hasten relief for my family through it,
Then it—and they—are but dreams.
Then it and they are like dreams.
