With good fortune and blessing come beloved ones,

borne by pale riding camels that trot and hasten.

My heart is a gift to their Egyptian caravan,

though my tears well up with joy.

O my lord Nur al-Din, blessings on your pilgrimage,

in which your outward journey and return were blessed.

Your pure endeavors have completed their rites,

and no benefit from your hand’s bounty has passed us by.

For if our lord has successfully completed a pilgrimage,

then here we are, enjoying his blessings.

And even if the standing was not on a Friday,

then here we are, gathering around you in joy.

Our praises of you and of a house such as yours

are obligations; for some people, they are voluntary devotion.
