فقلتُ لهم هيهات يتركني حزني
They tell me, “Be gentle with your eyelid as you weep.”
They tell me, "Go easy on your eyelids with crying,"
So I said to them, “My grief will never leave me.”
So I said to them, "Alas! My grief will not leave me."

I shall sacrifice my eyelid, now that I have lost a sword.
I will spend my eyelids after a sword I have lost,
If the sword has perished, let ruin fall upon the sheath.
If the sword takes away life, then pardon to the eyelids.
