فديت رئيساً عندنا من نواله

ألوفٌ وصدٌّ بعد ذاك خفيف

I would ransom a chief from whose bounty we have

Thousands, and a rebuff after that is slight.

فإن يكن العقل الذي ساء واحداً

فإن يكن العقل الذي ساء واحداً

فأفعاله اللآئي سرَرْن ألوف

فأفعاله اللآئي سرَرْن ألوف

So if the mind that caused displeasure is but one,

Then his deeds that brought delight are thousands.
