وجبهته من حياءٍ نديَّه
I would give my life for a youth whose hand is dewy with rain,
I would ransom a youth whose hand is modest
And whose brow is dewy with modesty.
His cheek is rosy from a becoming shyness
يسافرُjourneys قصدِيmy intent إلىto بابِهِhis door
يسافرُ قصدِي إلى بابِهِ
فمنهfor, from him المكانthe place ومنهand from him الهديَّهthe gift
فمنه المكان ومنه الهديَّه
My intent journeys to his door;
He travels to my door with intent
For from him comes the place, and from him the gift.
The place and the gift are from him
