الحمد لله إذ زمانٌ
حلاhas grown sweet لناfor us بالهناwith joy جلالهits splendor
حلا لنا بالهنا جلاله
Praise be to God, for in my time,
Praise be to God for an age
its splendor has grown sweet for us with bliss,
whose splendor has grown sweet for us with joy,
بكافلٍthrough a guardian للرجاfor hope وزيرa minister
بكافلٍ للرجا وزير
يرضعsuckles أبناءَناour children نوالهhis bounty
يرضع أبناءَنا نواله
through a vizier, guarantor of hope,
through a minister who safeguards hope,
whose largesse suckles our children.

فحبَّذاso how excellent برّهhis kindness رضاعاًas nursing
فحبَّذا برّه رضاعاً
وحبَّذاand how excellent رأيهhis counsel كفالهas guardianship
وحبَّذا رأيه كفاله
How excellent his beneficence as nursing!
How excellent, then, his kindness as nursing,
And how excellent his judgment as guardianship!
and how excellent his counsel as guardianship!
